Can't be bothered with the planning?

Away day questions

How does Football Trip Club work?

Pick your team and choose a fixture, then tell us where you're travelling from and how many are going. We show trains timed around kick-off, flights for European away days, hotels within walking distance of the ground, and the pubs and stations nearby.

Do you show where away fans sit?

Yes. Every ground guide has a plan of the stadium with each stand named and the away end marked, plus the nearest station, pubs, hotels and parking. Clubs sometimes move the away section, so check your ticket.

How do I book trains?

Every train button opens Trainline with your stations, a train timed to get you there before kick-off and your group already filled in, plus one for the trip home after the final whistle. Train companies release most tickets about 12 weeks ahead, so for games further off we show roughly when they go on sale and you can add a reminder to your calendar.

Can we make a day of it in the nearest big city?

Yes. For grounds near a big city, such as Bolton and Manchester, pick the city under “Where to first?” and the trip plans your train into the city about three hours before kick-off, a short hop on to the ground, and the city's pubs and hotels.

Where can I see all my club's away games this season?

Club away days lists every club's away games still to come this season, with the miles and the guide for each ground. Tap a game to plan the trip.

Which pubs welcome away fans?

Away fans tell each other: every pub on our guides and trips has a thumbs up (away fans welcome) and a thumbs down (home fans only), and once three fans have voted we show what they say. Pubs near grounds are often home fans only on matchdays, so check before you go.

Who is Mazza?

Mazza is our AI away-day fixer. Ask in plain English, such as “cheapest way to Sunderland for four of us?”, and Mazza checks the fixture, travel and hotels and writes up a plan you can paste into the group chat.

Can I buy match tickets here?

No. Away tickets are sold by the away club's own ticket office, usually to members or season-ticket holders. Always buy through your club: unauthorised resale of football tickets is a criminal offence in England and Wales.

What if the kick-off time changes for TV?

UK fixtures are often moved for TV coverage a few weeks ahead. We flag games that could still move, so book flexible or refundable trains and rooms until the time is confirmed.

Which competitions do you cover?

Club and national teams across all the major competitions: the Premier League, the EFL, Scottish football, domestic cups, European club competitions and internationals.

Do you cover European away days?

Yes. For games abroad we line up the whole journey: the airports at both ends with flight searches for your dates, how to get from the airport to the ground, the local kick-off time and hotels near the ground. We also cover the essentials from the UK government's travel advice: passport rules, money and today's exchange rate, plugs, phones and what the advice says about football.

Can I plan England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland away trips?

Yes. Pick the national team and the game. For trips abroad you get flights from both ends, the travel essentials for the host country and, for England, the latest Free Lions fans' guides. Each national team also has its own Fans' verdict: fans' memories of following them away.

What else is on around the match?

Every trip shows other football in town that week, plus gigs, shows and other sport, three days either side of the match.

Can I review an away day?

Yes. Every ground has a Fans' verdict: score the trip there, the pubs, the atmosphere, value and how welcome away fans are made to feel, and leave tips for the next lot. Every review is checked before it goes live.

Is Football Trip Club free?

Yes. It's free to use and you don't need an account.
